Open Forum Discussion

Would you like to advertise a job opportunity? Do you have a question you would like to ask your peers? Perhaps you or your university has big news you would like to share. Staff, faculty, and students from UCAR Member universities, and full access guests, can post to the UCAR Commons to connect with over 2,000 community members.

1.  Go to commons.ucar.edu
2.  Click on Login
3. Once you have logged in, click on Communities, My Communities, on the top menu
4. To post an opportunity, select the Opportunities community. To ask a question, select the Open Forum Discussion. To share exciting news, click on the News community.
5. Then, scroll to Latest Discussions and click on the blue Add button next to it.
6. Enter a subject header and your body of text.
7.  Click on Post
8. Posts are moderated. Once it has been approved, it will appear on the website and it will be included in the next digest email.
9. If you save your post as a draft instead of posting it, you can find it in your profile, under My Contributions.
10. Note that the default setting for the digest email for these communities is for the email to be sent on Wednesdays. Check out the next Commons Tip for how to change your email subscription settings.
