The UCAR Community Programs (UCP) provides a suite of innovative resources, tools, and services to support the Earth system science Community. Through our community programs, we contribute to the UCAR mission in the areas of Education and Training, Earth Observation and Data Services, Scientific Partnership and Services and research to operations transition. UCP Programs are created by the community to serve the community. With a goal to better anticipate the evolving scientific landscape and to serve the needs of the Earth system science community, UCP has formally launched an External Advisory Committee (EAC). The UCP EAC will provide guidance, advice, direction, and regular feedback on UCP's activities and management of its centers and programs, consistent with UCP's vision, goals, and objectives. The UCP EAC is composed of leading scientists with a broad view and deep understanding of the field of Earth system sciences, where it is going, and how UCP Programs and Centers will contribute to advancing Earth system science, in close collaboration with the community.
The UCP EAC is expected to meet twice a year.
