During National Ocean Month this June, the National Ocean Sciences Bowl (NOSB) is raising funds to provide scholarships for five graduating seniors, as well as experiential learning opportunities for high school students competing in 2025. The NOSB, a program of the Center for Ocean Leadership at UCAR, is a nationally recognized and highly acclaimed high school academic competition that provides a forum for interested students to test their knowledge of the ocean sciences including biology, chemistry, physics, geology, technology, geography, and policy. However, the NOSB strives to be much more than an academic competition! Students learn best when they take the knowledge they gain while preparing for competition and apply it to real-world issues. And we want to ensure our students continue to pursue opportunities and career options that put them on the path to becoming our next generation of ocean leaders. If we are to continue providing one-of-a-kind experiences and recognizing and rewarding individual achievements of our talented high school students, we need your help.
