Dear colleagues,
We invite you to submit your work to the AGU Fall Meeting 2024 on Lakes and Inland Water Bodies (Session # H090):
https://agu.confex.com/agu/agu24/prelim.cgi/Session/223732
This multidisciplinary session focuses on understanding the local-, regional-, and global-scale effects of lakes and inland water bodies on the Earth's biosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere and how these water bodies evolve under various drivers of change. We welcome abstracts on:
- Limnology: physical, chemical, and biological properties; lake geology and geological records; lake ecosystems and human interactions; anthropogenic impacts e.g., acidification and eutrophication; harmful algal blooms; etc.
- Data and modeling: physical models; ecological modelling; GIS and remote sensing; observations (e.g., buoy data); bathymetric data; development of new datasets; etc.
- Lake hydrology: lake levels; watershed research; etc.
- Lake - atmosphere interactions: lake-effect precipitation and lake-induced storms; diurnal and seasonal temperature modulation; microscale and mesoscale climate effects; boundary layer modifications; etc.
- Effects of climate change on inland water bodies
- Policy and management of inland water bodies as a critical water resource, assessments related to their economic potential, etc.
Abstract submission deadline is extended till Aug 5 14:00 EDT.
Thank you!
