The University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez is expected to invite applications for a tenure-track position focused on teaching and conducting research in Atmospheric Physics.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science, Physics of the Atmosphere, or a closely related field by the date of hire. Evidence of a strong physics background and ability to teach calculus-based introductory physics courses is required. Having relevant post-doctoral experience is highly desirable.
Atmospheric Physics, Atmospheric Science, Geophysical Fluid Dynamics, Climate Physics: Applicants should be specialized in a field related to the Atmospheric Sciences with a demonstrated strong background in Physics. Some areas of interest include atmospheric microphysics and radiation physics, computational approaches to synoptic, mesoscale, and extreme meteorological phenomena, climatology and climate physics, remote sensing techniques and instrumentation, and tropical meteorology.
