    The Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere (CIRA) at Colorado State University (CSU), located on the CSU Foothills Campus approximately 5 miles northwest of CSU main campus, seeks to hire a skilled Data Analyst to assist collaborative research and development with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Weather Service (NWS) Office of Science and Technology Integration (OSTI) in Silver Spring, MD. The individual in this position will report to the Social Sciences Quantitative Team Lead and actively support research conducted by the NWS OSTI Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences (SBES) Program. The SBES team has an active interdisciplinary research portfolio that includes program analysis, economics, and decision. The individual in this position will support SBES research by collecting, managing, and analyzing social and environmental data from a variety of sources. This position is located in Ft. Collins, CO and qualifies for flexible work arrangements including hybrid office/telework.  This position requires the ability to pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Tier 1 federal background check for systems access, and must be a citizen of the United States or a Permanent Resident with a physical USCIS "Green Card."


    As part of the initiative to expand collaboration between CIRA and OSTI, the individual in this position will support the growth and integration of SBES within the NWS . Working with other team members and with stakeholders, they will assist in collecting, integrating, and analyzing social and environmental data related to the impacts of weather on society. The individual in this position may be responsible for preparing presentation materials, providing briefings, assisting in the preparation of papers and reports, and generating documentation. The individual may be responsible for supporting and responding to ad-hoc inquiries.  We are looking for a highly motivated, goal-oriented individual who works well within a team and individually.
