Greetings,
The Department of Atmospheric & Planetary Sciences at Hampton University is seeking graduate students for the Fall 2025. We are starting to fill up but have a few positions left. All of these positions are fully funded graduate research assistantships. Our students come from a wide range of backgrounds and ethnicities.
Why choose Hampton University?
(1)A small University with a high faculty to student ratio ensures students receive quality time they need to build knowledge and advance their careers.
(2)Access to a very unique set of instrumentation for remote sensing (phased array radar, lidar) and in situ observational work.
(3)Access to a new high performance computing (HPC) cluster that will allow for detailed simulations of extreme weather and global climate.
(4)Close proximity to NASA Langley and other federal agencies for internships, collaborative research and job prospects.
(5)Beautiful campus setting right on the water and short drive to popular beaches such as the Outer Banks.
Faculty topic areas:
Dr. Robert Loughman -- remote sensing, radiation and aerosols
Dr. Stephen Guimond -- geophysical fluid dynamics, extreme weather and radar
Dr. Ruben Delgado -- atmospheric chemistry, air quality and lidar
Dr. William Moore -- planetary science, geodynamics
