Dear Colleagues,
I am reaching out to invite your participation in a short survey on faculty perspectives on collaboration and team-based research across the Earth system. The survey asks about your experiences working across disciplinary boundaries, opportunities for students to engage in team-based research, and barriers you may have encountered. It should take about 5–10 minutes to complete.
Your input will be extremely valuable in two ways:
-
It will help shape ongoing efforts within NSF NCAR's ESPAT (Earth System Predictability Across Timescales) initiative, particularly in understanding how faculty and students engage in interdisciplinary work.
-
It will also inform my upcoming TEDxBoulder presentation on the interconnectedness of the Earth system and the power of connection in building a more resilient planet.
The survey is confidential, and your responses will be reported only in aggregate. At the end, you will have the option to provide your name, university, and email, though this is not required.
I would also be grateful if you could share this survey with colleagues at your institution and in your networks who may be interested, so we can gather a broad range of perspectives. To ensure your perspectives can be included, responses would be most useful if submitted by Friday, September 5.
Thank you for considering this request, and for sharing your experiences to help foster more connected, collaborative approaches to Earth system research.
With appreciation,
Yaga Richter
