MSU Denver is a UCAR member and is hiring an assistant professor of meteorology. We are a teaching-focused institution with small class sizes. We're an open access, mostly-undergraduate, Hispanic serving institution. Our graduates go on to work for the NWS, go to graduate school, work at NCAR, or populate one of the many private companies along the Front Range of Colorado (from Google to Skyview). We also have broadcast meteorologists scattered around the country, many are Emmy-winning. I find the job extremely rewarding and the students, whose average age is 25, to be absolutely lovely. The weather here is a meteorologist's dream!
"The successful candidate will teach 9-12 credits of undergraduate meteorology courses each semester, that includes Physical Meteorology, Thermodynamic Meteorology, Climatology, and introductory Global Climate Change courses. We prefer candidates who can integrate modern computer programming activities into some of their courses. The successful candidate will join two tenured meteorology professors and a talented group of part-time meteorology instructors who have a wide variety of expertise and flexibility in what they can teach. Therefore, in addition to our preference for someone to take on the Physical, Thermodynamics, and Climatology courses, the successful candidate has the option to teach Radar and Satellite Meteorology, Field Observations of Severe Weather, Weather Discussion, Weather and Climate Lab, Meteorology Research Seminar, Air Pollution, Mesometeorology, and more."
    Deadline is April 7th.
