From NSF -
Colleagues,
We are happy here at NSF to close the books on a successful Fiscal Year 2023 and we look forward to the exciting science that will come from the funded projects.
Funding Opportunities
- NSF has released a new DCL, Dear Colleague Letter: STEM Access for Persons with Disabilities (STEM-APWD). The intent of this DCL is to increase the engagement of persons with disabilities (PWD) in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields. Proposals and supplemental funding requests are sought that address intersections between disability and fundamental science and generalizable research that addresses pathways from theory to application and use.
- NSF has also released a new DCL that intends to provide support for alternate pathways to encourage veterans' engagement in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) research in academia and industry. The Dear Colleague Letter: Veterans Research Supplement (VRS) Program affords veterans who are undergraduate and graduate students, K-12 teachers, or community college faculty the opportunity to work with active NSF recipients to conduct basic and/or industrially relevant research and to gain a deeper understanding of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Education.
Outreach
- A Drop-In Virtual Office Hour (VOH) is scheduled for Tuesday, October 5th from 2-3pm eastern on the GEO EMpowering BRoader Academic Capacity and Education (GEO-EMBRACE) program. NSF invites faculty members at emerging (non-R1) academic institutions (e.g., Community Colleges, Tribal Colleges and Universities, MSIs, HBCUs, Undergraduate, Masters, and R2 Institutions) to engage with GEO Program Directors to address concerns and ask questions about opportunities found in the GEO-EMBRACE web portal, including the new GEO-EMBRACE solicitation. The Zoom link for the VOH is here: https://nsf.zoomgov.com/j/1608432896?pwd=MVNBb01vSUR3TWZrb2pGNkpScWZVdz09&from=addon
Thank you, and per usual please feel free to share this information widely.
Best regards,
