The Department of Ocean Engineering and Marine Sciences at Florida Tech seeks both a Ph.D. student and a postdoc in Meteorology/Hydrometeorology. Under the supervision of Drs. Steven Lazarus and Pallav Ray, the research topics to be explored include the physical processes through which a warmer climate influences the sea breeze and heat stress, and how changes in large-scale circulations influence local-to-regional precipitation patterns and river flooding along Florida's east coast. The work involves a combination of observations, and high-resolution modeling in collaboration with Drs. Jiali Wang, William Pringle, and Haochen Tan from the Department of Energy's Argonne National Laboratory. Both positions will be located at Florida Tech. See attached for details.
