    Fully funded PhD position in air quality modeling available at Washington State University, Pullman, WA

    The Air Quality Research Group at Washington State University (WSU) recruiting 1–2 Ph.D. students to join the lab starting in Fall 2026. Funding includes full tuition, stipend, and health insurance (and a beautiful, safe, and affordable college town – Pullman, Washington).

    Dr. Meng's research group focuses on air pollution modelling (PM2.5, pollution chemical compositions and air toxics) using chemical transport models, such as CMAQ and GEOS-Chem, and Machine Learning methods. 

    Potential project topics include:
    - Wildfire Smoke Modeling & Forecasting
    - Air Toxics Modeling and Human Health
    - Mineral Dust in Earth System Modeling
