    UCAR, UCP and NSF NCAR are starting to post their student opportunities for the coming year. Please check the main career page regularly for new opportunities.

    • 2025 WINGS Dissertation Fellowship
      The WINGS Fellowship is designed for PhD candidates who have completed their required coursework, and in the beginning stages of writing a dissertation. Fellows will work with their academic advisor and a mentor recommended by WPO and CPAESS, to provide guidance during the dissertation process. 

    • 2025 NSF SOARS First Year Protégé
      NSF SOARS is an undergraduate-to-graduate program created to include multiple summer research opportunities, mentoring by expert scientists, engineers, and science professionals; and a supportive learning community. The summer research experience includes opportunities to engage in original scientific research, written reports and presentations, seminars, as well as peer and community mentoring. Additionally, NSF SOARS includes year-round support, funding to attend conferences, and an engaged network. Successful Protégés are eligible to participate in the program for up to four (4) years.

    • SIParCS Graduate & Undergraduate Student Internships
      These internships offer graduate students and undergraduates who have completed their sophomore year significant hands-on R&D opportunities in high performance computing (HPC) and related fields that use HPC for scientific discovery and modeling. This program embeds students as summer interns in the Computational and Information Systems Laboratory (CISL), an organization within NCAR charged with provisioning supercomputing and data systems to the geosciences research community, as well as conducting research and development in computational science, data analysis, scientific visualization and numerical modeling.

    • CISL: Outreach, Diversity and Education (CODE) Summer Intern - Graduate Student
      As the CODE Intern you will provide administrative support to the SIParCS Program office and affiliated programs. You will also assist with planning and preparation for education and outreach programs to occur during the 2025-2026 school year. This is a full time student intern position that runs from mid-May through early August.
