This summer, NOAA's Earth Prediction Innovation Center (EPIC) and the Unified Forecast System (UFS) in partnership with Jackson State University (JSU) will deliver a five-day Unifying Innovations in Forecasting Capabilities Workshop (UIFCW24) in Jackson, Mississippi on 22-26 July 2024. Throughout the week, workshop attendees will focus on integrating sectors of the Weather Enterprise and fostering a community of modelers. UIFCW24 is about engaging and uniting our efforts to advance forecasting capabilities for a more informed future. The theme for this year's workshop is Collaborative Progress in Earth System Modeling

NOAA's Earth Prediction Innovation Center (EPIC) is offering a limited number of travel grants for students and early career scientists to attend UIFCW24! This workshop is a great opportunity for students to gain conference experience, share their own Unified Forecast System (UFS) modeling research, and learn about NOAA's forecasting capabilities and processes.

Applications for travel grants are due June 7th. View more information about the travel grants and apply here!
