Graduate Student Research Associate, University of Colorado Boulder, Computer Science: Spectrum Sharing between EESS Radiometers and 5G Networks
- We are looking for a current or future graduate student to work on developing a prototype software system that utilizes geo-spatial spectrum sharing (see attached) to protect LEOS weather satellite passive measurements while enabling spectrum sharing with 5G/6G networks.
- The ideal candidate would have strong python skills and would also have an interest in one or more of the following topics: radiometry/remote sensing, computer science/software engineering, and 5G networks.
- This work is currently funded by the NSF. There is at least 3 years of funding available, and the research would lead to either a PhD or MS.
Note that the explosive demand for wireless services has caused spectrum sharing and management to become a very hot area in both the remote sensing community (climate, weather, atmospheric physics, etc.), and the 5G/6G networking community.
