Consortium gains new university
The member institutions that make up the governing body of the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) have elected two new trustees.
The new trustees are Daniel Cziczo, Purdue University, and Anna Gannet Hallar, University of Utah.
In addition, current trustees Tracey Holloway, University of Wisconsin, Madison; Robert Litterman, Kepos Capital; and Marilyn Raphael, University of California, Los Angeles were elected for a second term.
Trustees Kathy Jacobs, University of Arizona, and Carol Anne Clayson, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution will finish their terms in February.
UCAR, which manages the U.S. National Science Foundation National Center for Atmospheric Research (NSF NCAR) on behalf of the National Science Foundation, also serves the Earth system science community through its UCAR Community Programs (UCP) which provide a suite of innovative resources, tools, and services to researchers, educators, and practitioners in the Earth system science community.
UCAR also welcomed the University of Florida as a new member institution to its consortium of colleges and universities.
"We express gratitude for the service of the trustees who are finishing their terms and are pleased to welcome our new trustees," said UCAR President Antonio Busalacchi. "We are also excited to have the University of Florida joining our ranks and look forward to working with our new colleagues as well as continuing to collaborate with all our members on advancing research and technology that benefit society."
UCAR is a nonprofit consortium of 129 North American colleges and universities focused on research and training in Earth system science.
