Are you interested in tackling climate change impacts in your own backyard? Help refine a concept that would enable place-based research to build resilient communities.

The National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) has received funding from the National Science Foundation to launch a feasibility study on establishing the NCAR Earth System science and Technology hubs, or NESTs. A core task of the funding is to host two independent community workshops to further design and develop the program's concept. These workshops are an opportunity for participants to help mold the structure of a future potential program in ways that may be beneficial to their institution or their local community. Workshop findings will be used to formulate a report that outlines a program structure, characterizes necessary partnerships and organizational mechanisms, and that demonstrates the community interest in this space. The workshops, both 2.5 days and with approximately 50 participants from research, industry, government, and not for profits, will be held September 12-14 in Omaha, NE and November 13-15 in Charleston, SC. Please find more information and a link to register on the community workshop's website. Applications to attend are due July 21.
