We have an opening for a full-time, 2-year term Postdoctoral Fellow I position.

This role aims to acquire postgraduate experience in scientific research related to phased array weather radar. Scientists at the NSF NCAR Airborne Phased Array Program Office (APO) and Earth Observing Laboratory (EOL) direct research.

The role includes pre-defined research objectives and deliverables. It provides opportunities for participation in laboratory and field measurements to gain broader experience with phased array radar performance and scientific analysis techniques.

The Airborne Phased Array Radar (APAR) is an NSF-funded instrument development program that provides an advanced airborne radar to the science community. The multi-year implementation plan is to build and install the radar on the NSF NCAR C-130 aircraft and conduct data gathering and analysis during ground and flight tests. Once operational, the science community will use it to study high-impact weather events like hurricanes, winter storms, and supercells.
