Amid the most recent wildfire season across the United States, the effects from wildfires are top of mind for many. Wildfires have major impacts on society, including loss of lives, economic and property damage, and increased levels of smoke that affect our health. In August, join us for two virtual Explorer Series events to learn about NSF NCAR's latest research and insights on wildfires and why it matters.

On Thursday, August 13th from 3:00 - 4:00 pm MT, the NSF NCAR Explorer Series will host  "Science in the Spotlight: Air quality, smoke, and the health impacts of wildfire" with scientist Forrest Lacey. Join us virtually for this conversation on air quality and health impacts of wildfires. Watch the live public broadcast or register to receive email reminders. This free event is open to the public and recommended for ages 12+.
