    Dear colleagues,

I am writing to share information about a cutting-edge summer research opportunity in computational and data sciences for undergraduate students. The Advanced Computational Research Experience for Students (ACRES) program is an NSF-sponsored Research Experience for Undergraduates held on the campus of Michigan State University (MSU) over the summer. Students are paid to spend the summer conducting real-world computational research studies using MSU's supercomputer.  In particular,  Yadu Pokhrel and I are involved in one of the REU research projects, "Propagation of errors in meteorological measurements into water resources modeling".

Please share this information with any undergraduate students interested in numerical modeling as well as computational and data science research.  More information, including a video from last year's cohort, can be found on the ACRES website linked here: https://icer-acres.msu.edu/summer-2023/

Applications are due on February 3, 2023.

    Thanks.
    -Lifeng
