The National Ocean Sciences Bowl, a program of the Center for Ocean Leadership at UCAR, is thrilled to announce the return of the Virtual Sponge Bowl. This unique regional competition ensures that dedicated high school teams, whose local bowls aren't running this year, still have a chance to showcase their ocean science brilliance. The NOSB is an academic competition that introduces high school students to ocean and freshwater science. The top 18 teams from regional competitions around the U.S. will compete head-to-head over Zoom, completing buzzer question rounds and Team Challenge Questions (TCQs).
Our regional host partners at People Making a Difference are recruiting 76 more volunteers to make this event happen for 24 teams from across the country. You can support the next generation of ocean stewards right from your living room!
Please join us for this great outreach opportunity where you can engage directly with high school students and other STEM professionals. Volunteers always introduce themselves and their work to the students, providing insight into future career paths!
