The Physics Department at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Atmospheric Physics. We seek candidates with a Ph.D. in Physics who are passionate about advancing atmospheric science research and education.
Our department is home to Puerto Rico's only Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology program, offering a unique opportunity to make significant contributions to understanding atmospheric processes in the tropics and beyond. The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Conduct innovative research in atmospheric physics, including areas such as instrumentation, cloud physics, numerical modeling, and/or tropical meteorology
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in both the core physics curriculum and atmospheric physics specialization
- Contribute to the growth and development of our atmospheric sciences program
