Why use VAPOR?
VAPOR (Visualization and Analysis Platform for Ocean, Atmosphere, and Solar Researchers) is a 3D analysis and visualization application developed at NSF-NCAR for visualizing and analyzing large datasets. It is designed specifically for Earth System Science data and supports interactive exploration using features like volume rendering, isosurfaces, and particle tracing for flow visualization. To explore examples of what VAPOR can produce, visit the Visualization Gallery.
In addition to the graphical user interface, VAPOR includes a Python API. This scripting interface allows users to generate and customize visualizations programmatically, streamline batch processing of datasets, and interface with other Python-based data analysis tools.
