Are you a faculty member, student, and/or professional who uses or wants to use machine learning for your research or work?
The University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) and the NSF National Center for Atmospheric Research (NSF NCAR) are investigating the growing need for machine learning (ML) training in the Earth System Science (ESS) community, and we need your help to understand the needs. ML skills are typically acquired through specific graduate studies, specialized coursework, self-directed study, or on an ad-hoc basis. We want to hear from you about what we could do to fill some of that ML training gap!
The survey will be open through October 17th and we want to hear from as many people as possible. Feel free to distribute this survey to others in the Earth System Science community.
To be clear, we are focused on ML not Agentic AI, Generative AI, or LLMs (e.g., ChatGPT).
If you have any questions about the survey, please feel free to reach out to Bryan Guarente (guarente@ucar.edu) or Mariana Cains (mgcains@ucar.edu).
